I couldn’t be more pleased with my visit to Allen Acres. Dr. Allen and his wife, Susan, were wonderful hosts. Dr. Allen is exceptionally knowledgeable about native plants and animals, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hikes he led around their property and in nearby Kisatchie National Forest. Allen Acres is beautiful and well-maintained, inside and outside. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Susan made me feel right at home. She cooked me special vegetarian dishes for every meal and even sent the leftovers home with me! I highly recommend Allen Acres to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

Attended a Bio-blitz here and everyone was very hospitable. I had a great time and saw some great stuff!

Wondeful little place! Very clean and super sweet owners! Cannot wait to go back and stay again.

Perfect for TDY to Ft. Polk. We could not find any hotel rooms in Leesville, and we are glad we couldn't. This little B&B is super clean, has a large, and I do mean large, private kitchen and wonderful hosts. You are only 15 minutes from the Ft. Polk back gate, so access to the base is much quicker than many other spots. The hostess is amazing, she even made us Pho for breakfast one day! (You can also get fresh eggs cooked to order or just about anything else you want!). The large kitchen means you save on food, there are few places to eat that are decent in the area, and you can eat as healthy as you want (note there is no stove in the kitchen but many different types of electrical appliances to allow you to McGyver something together). The only downside is that there are only 2 bathrooms for 5 rooms (the B&B is a separate house next door to the owners house), but that is a small cost for all the benefits you get! There are also great hiking/running trails, another benefit if you take a look at the high speed, narrow, roads you'd have to otherwise exercise on. This place makes the otherwise empty wasteland surrounding Ft. Polk much, much easier to deal with!
